Overview

Abiitan, a new Ecumen development located in the heart of the Mill City neighborhood of Downtown Minneapolis, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to join their team. Ecumen is seeking an energetic, passionate, and skilled professional to serve the Abiitan community.


Abiitan, an Entrance Deposit community, will consist of 86 Independent Living residences, as well as an additional floor of residences for those requiring Memory Care.

Open Shifts:

1) Monday 10:00am - 6:00pm and Tuesday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hours per week)

OR

2) Saturdays 8:00pm - 1:00am and Sundays - Mondays 8:00pm - 12:00am (13 hours per week)

OR

3) Fridays and Saturdays 8:00am - 12:00pm (8 hours per week)

Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for maintaining facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Performs cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy and departmental standards.
  • Properly uses chemicals, understands and adheres to facility Right to Know policy, and is knowledgeable of MSDS for chemicals used to perform functions of job.
  • Maintains all areas assigned in the facility in a continuous state of sanitation, odor free and safe, reporting any maintenance concerns.
  • Ensure housekeeping supplies are stocked and refill products when needed.  Reports supply needs to supervisor.
  • Observes and uses proper procedures for waste disposal per facility policy.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly manner. Assist with other environmental service functions as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant Experience: 1-2 years housekeeping/laundry experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Other knowledge, skills and abilities: Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident’s Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, Right-to-Know, and Globally Harmonized System (GHS). In Minnesota this also includes A Workplace Awareness and Injury Reduction act (AWAIR).
