    The Corporate Diagnosis Coder provides accurate, professional ICD10 diagnosis coding for all Ecumen business lines as well as support for ICD10 education and auditing organization wide.


    Essential job responsibilities include:


    1. Serves as primary ICD10 coding specialist for all new admissions to Ecumen Skilled Nursing and Home Care agencies, accurately identifying and entering information into patient medical records based on documented evidence and physician’s orders.

    2. Ensures accuracy of diagnoses by regularly reviewing and updating diagnosis sheets for long term care patients.

    3. Assists facilities in maximizing state and Medicare reimbursement.

    4. Assists and educates Ecumen staff on International Disease Classification, new trends and practices.

    5. Assists with Medicare and managed care processes, and regulatory compliance issues regarding medical records.

    6. Make site visits to assigned facilities, as needed.


    Corporate Diagnosis Coder

    Minimum Required Qualifications:


    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Certification or equivalent, in International Classification of Disease v 10 coding
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other staff, physicians, clients and their families
    • Understanding of and ability to manage computerized health information systems
    • Two or more years’ relevant experience in a long-term care facility
    • Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to long-term care, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities
    • Working knowledge of quality indicators and measures used in long-term care
    • Ability to monitor facility budgets
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to travel extensively throughout Minnesota and neighboring regions
    • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
