    Responsibilities

    The Accountant I is responsible for financial statement preparation, comparison of actual financial results to the budget, assistance in the budget preparation and external audit work paper preparation for assigned Ecumen owned and managed sites.

     

    Essential job responsibilities include:

     

    1. Prepare and analyze financial statements for entities owned and managed by Ecumen.

    2. Ensure accounts are reconciled and reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.

    3. Partner with site leaders and business office staff to coordinate and complete the month end close of the billing system.

    4. Provide customer services to off-site staff by assisting with questions and concerns.

    5. Assist assigned sites in the preparation of the annual budget including reviewing the proposed budget for reasonableness, and verifying the budget has been loaded into the business system properly.

    6. Monitor actual financial results against budgeted results and notify management of significant variances or spending trends in a timely manner.

    7. Prepare work papers and provide information that supports the annual financial audits.

    Qualifications

    Accountant I

    Minimum Required Qualifications

     

    • Education and Relevant Experience: Associates degree in Accounting or related field with 2 years of related experience OR HS/GED with 5 years of related experience OR Bachelor’s Degree w/o work experience
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Other knowledge, skills and abilities:
      • Microsoft Excel and Word Experience
      • Experience with using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and related technologies

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
