    Rose Senior Living - Carmel seeks a Human Resources & Business Office Specialist to join its team. Rose Senior Living - Carmel is developed and owned by Edward Rose & Sons, known for creating amenity-rich communities where people can appreciate comfortable and affordable living in beautiful settings. Partnering with Edward Rose & Sons is Ecumen, a not-for-profit organization that has grown to be one of the most innovative leaders in senior housing and services, empowering individuals to live richer and fuller lives. The Carmel, Indiana, location consists of 159 units: 69 independent living rental apartment homes, 60 assisted living rental apartment homes and 30 residences for seniors requiring memory care services.


    As the HR/Business Office Specialist, you would provide the Human Resources and Business Office support at our Carmel, Indiana location. This role is very independent, with help only a phone call away at our corporate offices.   We will rely on you to manage our talent acquisition and onboarding processes, lead performance management, and own the day-to-day Business Office responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and plays a critical role in supporting our culture and our success.


    Essential job responsibilities include:


    1. Promote a culture of team work, respect, open communication, customer service and fun!

    2. Accountable for our talent acquisition process and for finding us great employees to serve our wonderful residents! Create and implement an annual Recruitment and Retention Plan.

    3. Conduct a welcoming and exciting employee onboarding experience that represents our values of Serve, Innovate, Empower and Honor. Facilitate team building exercises and employee development.

    4. Assist in the development and implementation of our human resources policies and processes. Including but not limited to: leaves of absence, workers compensation, performance management, diversity and inclusion.

    5. Perform our payroll reconciliation and act as a liaison between Carmel and the corporate payroll function.

    6. Own the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for the facility, including resident billing and answering any billing questions.

    7. Supervise our concierge team of 2-4 employees, providing them support and guidance as needed.


    Human Resources & Business Office Specialist

    Minimum Required Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
    • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources
    • Ability to build relationships that support a healthy and successful work culture
    • Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, presentations and facilitation)
    • Experience in meeting deadlines, attention to detail and well organized
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know, SDS, ADA, Fair Housing laws and regulations


    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Experience in the health care industry (preferably with seniors)
    • Prior experience with an applicant tracking system (iCims, or similar)
    • Prior experience with account payable and/or receivable
