    Ecumen Pathstone Living seeks a Cafe Assistant to join its team.  Ecumen Pathstone Living consists of 61 assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 69 nursing home beds, 21 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Mankato, Minnesota.  Ecumen creates home for older adults wherever they choose to live.     Responsibilities

    The Café Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. Maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service. Complies with all federal and state regulations.

    Essential job responsibilities include:

     

    1. Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.

    2. Assists in meal preparation duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, organizing food and supplies, preparation of food, serving of meals, and clean-up.

    3. Completes required prep work; following correct procedures and directions. Properly operates all food equipment, used in the dining and café areas.

    4. Assists all workers and positions in the dining department; identifies what needs to be done and assists as needed.

    5. Responsible for proper handling of all food and supplies, ensuring proper labeling, dating and rotation.

    6. Maintains a clean sanitary work area, complies with city, state and federal rules and regulations, and follows established policies, procedures and practices of the facility.

    7. Handles cash and currency following all procedures and policies, this would include credit cards vouchers, meal tickets and other authorized forms of payment.

    8. Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all employees within the community as directed by the leadership team.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Qualifications:

     

    • Current valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance (if applicable)
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

    • Commercial Kitchen Experience
    • Senior Care Experience
    • Basic knowledge of food service
