    Heritage at Irene Woods seeks a Housekeeping Assistant to join its team.  Heritage at Irene Woods is developed and owned by Edward Rose & Sons, known for creating amenity-rich communities where people can appreciate comfortable and affordable living in beautiful settings.  Partnering with Edward Rose & Sons is Ecumen, a not-for-profit organization that has grown to be one of the most innovative leaders in senior housing and services, empowering individuals to live richer and fuller lives.  Heritage at Irene Woods consists of 110 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes as well as 30 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Memphis, Tennessee.



    • Sweep, vacuum, dust, wash, wax, scour and sanitize area as assigned in accordance with community’s policy; must move furniture and equipment as necessary to clean. If assistance is needed moving furniture, contact Environmental Services Manager.
    • Demonstrate sound safety practices. Properly uses chemicals; understands and adheres to facility Right to Know Policy and possesses knowledge of MSDS for chemicals. Observe Universal Precautions, Infection Control and proper waste disposal procedures related to Environmental Services.
    • Use proper body mechanics to move furniture, wash bathrooms, windows, etc.
    • Ensure housekeeping supplies are stocked and refill products when needed. Report any supply needs to supervisor.
    • Attend mandatory in-services and monthly staff meetings.
    • Recognize and act on safety hazards; i.e. wipe up spills or wet spots off floor, keeps hallways uncluttered when using cleaning equipment.
    • Knowledge of, observes and follows all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the community including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident’s Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, Right to Know, and MSDS


      Good steward of time and resources.
    • Preserves confidential information through following HIPAA guidelines.
    • Constantly customer focused by providing excellent service, encouraging and respecting customer’s individuality and treating people with dignity and respect.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Required Qualifications:


    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Some previous janitorial/maintenance experience
    • Licensure/Certification: May be required to obtain a boiler operator license as mandated by state/city
    • Current valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance (if applicable)
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Globally Harmonized System (GHS), Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations


    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Some post-secondary education in related field
    • Previous experience working with seniors as well as 1-2 years janitorial/maintenance experience
    • Licensure/Certification: May be required to hold a boiler operator’s license as mandated by state/city
