Overview

Ecumen Pathstone Living seeks a Human Resource Specialist to join its team.  Ecumen Pathstone Living consists of 61 assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 69 nursing home beds, 21 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Mankato, Minnesota.  Ecumen creates home for older adults wherever they choose to live. Responsibilities

The Human Resources Specialist works in accordance with established policies and procedures, keeping accurate employee records, and on-boarding and orientation of new employees as well as overseeing all aspects of the human resources job function. This role is critical in supporting our initiatives, providing great customer support and providing HR functional excellence and process improvement.

 

Essential job responsibilities include:

 

  1. Under the direction of the Human Resources Director oversees and directs the job posting, recruitment, onboarding, hiring, and orientation process and off boarding for all employees. Communicates daily with leadership team ensuring processes are completed timely and according to policy.

  2. Schedules and conducts New Hire Onboarding in coordination with other sites within the region. 

  3. Processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis through Kronos software. 
  4. Monitors staff turn-over and retention within nursing department and implements creative ideas for recruitment and retention.

  5. Prepares the Nursing Schedule using current scheduling software and supports day to day staffing for the Nursing department.

  6. With the Director's input, advises and supports other department supervisors with employee related issues or concerns. Acts as a liaison between managers and employees with recruitment and new hire processes.  

  7. Completes weekly, monthly reports, including PBJ requirements,  open positions and onboarding information and submits to supervisor.

 

 

Qualifications

Human Resources Specialist

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years in Human Resources and/or healthcare related experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance ( if applicable)
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Prior supervisory/management experience
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Experience with HRIS software, an applicant tracking system, E-Verify
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Experience working in Senior Healthcare
