Rose Senior Living - Avon seeks a Driver to join its team.  Rose Senior Living - Avon is developed and owned by Edward Rose & Sons, known for creating amenity-rich communities where people can appreciate comfortable and affordable living in beautiful settings.  Partnering with Edward Rose & Sons is Ecumen, a not-for-profit organization that has grown to be one of the most innovative leaders in senior housing and services, empowering individuals to live richer and fuller lives.  The Avon, Ohio location consists of 175 units:  72 independent living rental apartment homes, 65 assisted living rental apartment homes and 38 residences for seniors requiring memory care services.


**This is a Part-time position that will grow into a Full-time role as our census rises.**


The Driver will transport community residents, guests and associates to/from events, scheduled appointments, as well as unscheduled appointments as assigned. The Driver will follow all safety rules while transporting individuals. Driver will complete vehicle safety, cleanliness, maintenance schedules and checks prior to transporting residents and community guests.


Essential job responsibilities include:


  1. Check daily schedules for list of passengers and routes. Assure passengers arrive safely to and from their destinations.
  2. Operate scheduled runs on a timely basis. Inform supervisor if not on schedule.
  3. Always operate vehicles in a safe manner following all laws of the road. Always secure passengers with a seat belt or wheel chair tie down during transportation.
  4. Provide hands-on assistance to passengers in and out of vehicles. It is the driver’s responsibility to determine if their passengers can be left alone in the vehicle while assisting another client.
  5. Conduct routine safety, maintenance, mileage, signage and cleaning inspections of vehicles before the first daily route. Complete necessary forms and logs for safety, maintenance, mileage, signage, repairs and cleaning of vehicles. Follow established vehicle schedules and identified procedures for fueling, cleaning and maintenance of vehicles, including designated stations, signatures and identification of vehicle. 
  6. Report any problems or health concerns about passengers to the Director of Life Enrichment immediately.
  7. Treat all passengers with kindness, respect and dignity. Maintain confidentiality regarding any passengers.
  8. Complete all appropriate billing documents and submit to Director of Life Enrichment per established schedule.
  9. Assist with building/grounds maintenance as requested.
  10. Actively lead and/or participate in life enrichment activities as scheduled and assigned.
  11. Support Environmental Services as requested and assigned.

Driver Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • STS Driver Certification including medical requirements, four hours defensive driving instruction, four hours of Abuse Prevention instruction and eight hours of Passenger Assistance instruction.
  • Possess a valid Class C Drivers license and maintain a good driving record that meets STS requirements.
  • Ability to read a map and follow written instructions. Ability to complete on-line education, as assigned.
  • Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident’s Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, Right to know, and MSDS.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years experience driving passenger or commercial vehicles
  • Commercial drivers license
