Rose Senior Living - Carmel seeks a Director of Nursing to join its team. Rose Senior Living - Carmel is developed and owned by Edward Rose & Sons, known for creating amenity-rich communities where people can appreciate comfortable and affordable living in beautiful settings. Partnering with Edward Rose & Sons is Ecumen, a not-for-profit organization that has grown to be one of the most innovative leaders in senior housing and services, empowering individuals to live richer and fuller lives. The Carmel, Indiana, location will consist of 159 units: 69 independent living rental apartment homes, 60 assisted living rental apartment homes and 30 residences for seniors requiring memory care services.



The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring that the health and safety of all residents are met through visits with staff.  The Clinical Director will ensure that staff is trained in medical procedures and policies which are current and up-to-date.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Completes initial assessment of potential residents to assure that their needs will be met.  Implements service agreements with all residents upon move-in.  Performs supervisory visits and reviews/revises service agreements as needed and/or required.
  • Assures residents have up-to-date care plans.  Monitors and maintains resident charts and clinical progress notes.
  • Assures all physician orders are signed and implemented with-in 24 hours.
  • Maintains and monitors medication administration program. Supervises medication practices and medical equipment being used in the building. Follows-up with physicians regarding medications and/or medical conditions
  • Communicates in resident’s log any information that staff need to be aware of. Assures that staff clearly understand and follow all resident care procedures.
  • Provides health and medication training to all new employees as well as continued education for all staff and documents such training to assure compliance with state, federal and local regulations.  A minimum of 12 hours of in-services must be held per year.
  • Assures compliance with regulations and is available for federal and state licensure surveys.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises RNs, LPNs and Resident Assistants.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.  Works with Housing Director to assure emergency procedures are in place.  Responds appropriately to safety hazards, fire drills and other emergency situations
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget for nursing department
  • Other duties as assigned.




This position requires a person who is a Graduate of accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurse.  Related experience is preferred along with a required license as a Registered Nurse within the state in which working and must maintain licensure.  All employees must possess the ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal skills; work well, both individually and as part of a team, through respect, collaboration and dedication; and successfully interact with a diverse culture base. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently, and demonstrate a positive attitude, high integrity and ethical awareness.
