Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the successful integration of Ecumen’s and client’s operational and health care related initiatives and actions into their assigned communities. This role provides positive leadership for the planning, development and evaluation of health care and related services offered to residents and clients throughout assigned communities. This role is accountable for the overall performance, both operationally and clinically, for their assigned communities.

 

Essential job responsibilities include:

 

  1. Participates in preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, program plans, strategic business plans, and marketing plans in compliance with Ecumen goals and expectations.
     
  2. Develops and mentors direct reports and other key leaders, creating an environment that supports meeting or exceeding established goals.
     
  3. Regularly audits communities’ performance against Ecumen’s operational initiatives and targets. This includes, but is not limited to: customer satisfaction, employee engagement, quality indicators, and financial outcomes.
     
  4. Ensures that nursing standards of practice are being followed. Continually working to improve clinical care and quality.
     
  5. Responsible for auditing customer service culture across assigned communities and assisting communities and operations leaders in creating strategies and initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.
     
  6. Responsible for ensuring communities are in compliance with all state and federal guidelines and regulations. Assist communities with action planning following compliance visits or audits. Ensure that Ecumen’s clinical care practices and policies are up to date by providing resources, tools and education to communities. Serve as a clinical resource and act as Subject Matter Expert regarding Ecumen’s standard for delivering services to clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
     
  7. Partners with cross-functional leadership in Ecumen’s home office to assist communities with initiatives, compliance and overall quality improvement. Serves as a strategic liaison between communities and home office to ensure successful implementation and execution of key organizational initiatives. Responsible for providing guidance to communities to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with owners, vendors, governing boards, advisory boards, and community councils.

  8. Responsible for providing guidance to improve employee engagement across assigned communities. This includes analyzing current employee engagement and satisfaction, and assisting communities and operations leaders to create and implement strategies to improve employee retention.
     
  9. Provide support to site leadership to ensure successful implementation and operation of new startups, acquisitions, mergers, and other new development projects. This includes partnering with cross functional teams in pre-project planning to ensure efficient and quality operational guidelines are established.

Qualifications

Regional Nursing Director

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Housing, Business or related field; AND 3 years of related work experience
  • 5 years of related experience managing multi-site and/or multi-state operations
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse in Michigan or other state; ability to obtain licensure in assigned states. Must keep licensure current and in good standing
  • Current valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State Regulations related across healthcare delivery models within senior services
  • Working knowledge of quality indicators and measures across healthcare delivery models within senior services
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Licensure: Nursing Home Administrator’s License in Michigan, Minnesota, or other states
  • Education: Bachelors Degree or Masters degree in nursing
