Ecumen Bethany seeks an Adult Day Services Assistant to join its team.  Ecumen Bethany consists of 159 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 23 suites for guests receiving short term rehabilitation services, 60 suites for long term nursing care residents, 11 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Alexandria, Minnesota. The Adult Day Services Assistant is responsible for providing individualized programming to meet the needs of all participants while assisting them to achieve the highest level of functioning possible.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Report any changes in participant’s physical or mental condition along with any injuries to participant.
  • Encourage active participation or involvement of all participants in daily programs.        
  • Provide quality activity programming by recognizing the importance of participant activities and its purpose.
  • Maintain attendance records of daily events.
  • Maintain good working relations with supervisor, coworkers, volunteers, participants and families.
  • Perform all assigned daily responsibilities: dressing bathing and assistance with eating.
  • Keep immediate work areas safe and comply with cleaning responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position requires a person who has a High School Diploma or GED along with a CPR and First Aid certificate.  All Ecumen employees must possess the ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal skills; work well, both individually and as part of a team, through respect, collaboration and dedication; and successfully interact with a diverse culture base. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently, and demonstrate a positive attitude, high integrity and ethical awareness.
